Packaging Graphic Design Assistant

Description:

The role involves a combination of graphic design, technical review, documentation management, and administrative tasks related to artwork and design. Ideally you will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, proficient in relevant software such as Adobe Illustrator, possess good communication skills, and have a logical approach to your work.

Ideally we are looking at Graphic Design graduates who are keen to pursue a career in the packaging industry, manipulating artwork & colour matching.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that customer requirements are accurately translated into effective designs.

Core Responsibilities:

• Artwork Review and Amendment: Using Illustrator to review and make necessary changes to artwork.

• Print Layouts and Designs: Assisting in creating print layouts and designs for flexographic print.

• Technical Reviews: Providing administrative support for artwork, including conducting technical reviews.

• Ordering Tooling and Supplies: Assisting in ordering necessary tooling and related supplies.

• CAD Drawings and Designs: Preparing 2D CAD drawings and designs using KASKEMAKE software.

• Sample Preparation: Creating samples using CAD/CAM cutting table.

• Documentation Management: Maintaining all documentation (both electronic and paper) in accordance with company standards.

• Product Specifications: Building and managing product specifications within the company's internal IT system.

• Parcel Preparation: Getting parcels/samples ready for posting to customers.

• NCR and NPI Processes: Assisting in Non-Conformance Register (NCR) and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes as needed.

• Print Layouts and Approvals: Assisting with print layouts, designs, and approving initial production samples.

Person Specification:

• Work Under Pressure: Capable of working under pressure and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

• Initiative: Self-driven and able to initiate tasks independently.

• Attention to Detail: Observant with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.

• Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Logical Approach: Demonstrates a logical and methodical approach to work.

• Problem Solving: Capable of effective problem-solving.

• Adobe CC Experience: Preferably has experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software, particularly Illustrator.

• Education and Experience: Ideally, holds a degree in Graphic Design.
