Description:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Paediatricians to join our team in Dorchester, specializing in Autism and ADHD assessments for children and adolescents aged 3-18. The role involves conducting comprehensive developmental assessments and diagnosing children and young people with ASD and/or ADHD.

As a Paediatrician with a focus on Autism and ADHD, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment and Diagnosis:

    • Conduct thorough developmental histories using preferred methods and tools for evaluating children undergoing autism and ADHD assessments.

    • Observe children and young people during sessions, ensuring age-appropriate and compassionate communication.

    • Review reports (e.g., ADOS, developmental history, collateral information) to form an accurate diagnosis.

    • Provide clear and compassionate feedback to families, including diagnosis, recommendations, and local/national resources for support.

    • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) for additional case information and offer follow-up sessions when necessary.

    • Produce high-quality diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria (administrative support provided for report formatting and quality control).

    • Request onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust/ICB protocols.

  • Clinic Operations:

    • Conduct up to four appointments per day between 9am and 5pm.

    • Be available for weekend sessions.

    • Receive administrative support for scheduling and report writing, ensuring you can focus on clinical excellence.

  • Training & Development:

    • Free CPD opportunities and training for further neurodevelopmental assessments, such as ADHD, to expand your skill set.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualifications:

    • GMC-registered doctor with a valid license to practice.

    • CCT in Paediatrics is preferred, but not essential.

    • Expertise in ASD and ADHD assessments for children and adolescents.

    • Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal processes.

    • Able to travel to the clinic for face-to-face work.
