Paid Search Optimization Manager

 

Description:

In this role you will join the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) bidding team, who own and manage the data-led systems that ensure we’re making the most out of our paid search advertising spend. Your role will be to ensure seamless operation of critical data integrations that power our paid search bidding strategies, as well as managing projects to enhance and develop our SEM program to deliver incremental revenue. This position combines expertise in SEM with an understanding of martech systems and database management. You will collaborate with data engineers, platform teams, and SEM analysts to maintain system reliability, identify opportunities for optimization, and drive innovation in our paid search infrastructure. This is a hands-on role requiring technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, and strategic thinking to support a multi-million-dollar paid search program.

Examples Of What You'll Do
 

  • Manage the day-to-day functionality of data integrations between internal platforms and search tools like Google Ads, SA360 and Big Query.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure all data pipelines and integrations are functioning correctly, identifying and resolving issues promptly when they arise.
  • Troubleshoot and fix broken systems or processes, ensuring minimal disruption to bidding operations.
  • Manage and document workflows to ensure consistency, transparency, and scalability.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to build and refine processes and database queries that inform SEM bidding strategies.
  • Lead projects to enhance SEM performance through better utilization of data, automation, and technology.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for operational issues and recommend technical solutions.
  • Proactively explore emerging technologies, martech tools, and best practices to drive innovation in SEM.
  • Create technical documentation and workflows to ensure knowledge-sharing and consistency across teams.
     

What We Seek
 

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Marketing Technology).
  • 3-4+ years experience working in a data analytics position, preferably in a digital marketing environment.
  • Understanding of martech platforms and search advertising tools (e.g., Google Ads, SA360).
  • Familiarity with database structures and troubleshooting data pipelines.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under time constraints.
  • Ability to turn complex data into compelling storytelling and actionable recommendations
  • Expertise in interrogating data using SQL and writing custom SQL queries, and understanding of database structures
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly data engineers and marketing professionals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present findings, explain complex concepts and influence stakeholder decisions making
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Has a genuine passion for learning and self-improvement, continuously seeking out new opportunities to expand knowledge and skills.
  • Prior exposure to Paid Search, Bidding, and Marketing KPIs is a strong plus.
