Penningtons Manches Cooper, a highly regarded and inclusive legal services firm and a member of myGwork—the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community—is seeking a Paralegal to join their Commercial Real Estate Post-Completions team in Oxford. This position offers the chance to work closely with expert legal professionals on a variety of high-profile real estate matters. The Oxford Commercial Real Estate team works across several focus areas including:
Investment acquisitions
Landlord and Tenant matters
Mixed-use development
Oxford Colleges property transactions
The position plays a key role in handling SDLT and land registration processes, offering scope to gain specialist expertise and take on substantial responsibility from early on. Successful candidates will also benefit from direct client interaction and training that supports long-term career progression, including the possibility of securing a training contract within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full post-completion process, including Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions and land registration
Support senior team members with deal structuring advice and compliance documentation
Prepare and review legal documents with a strong attention to detail
Engage in client-facing communication and relationship management
Contribute to a collaborative team environment, while also being able to work independently
Essential and Desirable Criteria:
A degree in Law or CILEx qualification preferred
Proven experience with SDLT and land registration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised and capable of managing a busy and deadline-driven workload
Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills
Commercial awareness and client-focused attitude
Adaptable to change with a problem-solving mindset
