Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator to manage the Permit to Work system at our Able Seaton Port site in Hartlepool. This role is critical to ensuring that all work activities are carried out safely and in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to facilitate permit approvals, monitor compliance, and drive safety improvements.

Job Details:

  • Start Date: March 1, 2025 – August 2025 (Potential extension)
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10 hours per day (10am – 8pm)
  • Total Hours Per Week: 50 hours (occasional weekend work)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the PTW system, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Issue, monitor, and close permits for operational and maintenance activities.
  • Review work scopes, identify potential hazards, and ensure appropriate risk assessments are completed.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and safety departments to streamline permit approvals.
  • Ensure permit holders are trained and fully understand their responsibilities.
  • Monitor ongoing work activities to verify compliance with permit conditions and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of issued permits and conduct regular compliance audits.
  • Organize and lead PTW meetings, ensuring all stakeholders are aware of ongoing work activities and associated risks.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents related to permitted work and implement corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve PTW procedures to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certification in Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in Permit to Work coordination, ideally within the renewable energy or offshore wind industry.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficiency in permit tracking and management software.
