Description:
Thompsons Solicitors is actively seeking a motivated and experienced Personal Injury Lawyer to join their dynamic team based in Birmingham. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the operational and financial success of the office while practicing high-quality personal injury law focused on Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a comprehensive caseload of Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims, handling all stages from the issue and service of proceedings, to defence review and response.
Conduct effective case management through court directions, including preparation and handling of interim applications.
Instruct counsel and prepare for trial, managing all associated trial work with thorough attention to detail and legal accuracy.
Liaise directly with union clients and colleagues, demonstrating strong client care and communication skills.
Apply a thorough understanding of statutory and common law principles relevant to personal injury litigation, and communicate these effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
Exercise sound judgment, confident decision-making, and apply significant legal expertise to deliver excellent client service with empathy and sensitivity.
Candidate Profile:
Admitted solicitor or CILEx with at least 3 years’ relevant experience in personal injury litigation, particularly managing EL/PL claims.
Proven ability to manage cases independently through all litigation stages, including trial preparation and counsel instruction.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to provide legal services with care, understanding, and sensitivity towards clients.
Strong communication skills to present complex legal information clearly and effectively to clients and colleagues.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing own caseload efficiently.
