Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust require a clinical photographer who will become part of our small, busy design and photography team working on both the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and University Hospital Lewisham sites.

The Design & Photography Department provides a comprehensive photographic, graphic design, video, illustrative, and printing service to the Trust as well as to external agencies.

We provide a wide range of clinical and non-clinical photography, which includes PR photography and video services to all clinical specialties throughout the Trust.

The Trust, as part of the South East London Dermatology Network, are setting up a new teledermatology service. The successful applicant will primarily be required to work in the clinics photographing skin lesions. Their time will be divided between the two acute sites. They will be supported by the team and will have opportunities to vary their workload by branching out into wider projects that come into the department, for example videography.

Duties

The main duties of the post include:

• Facilitating the teledermatology clinics. This will include checking paperwork and appropriate consent, capturing images of lesions, and uploading the images to the eDerma platform and in line with department processes
• Clinical photography in the studio and on wards
• Non-clinical photography for events, publications, and stock library

Requirements

You will have a minimum of 1-2 years post qualification experience, and while not essential, experience of working within a medical photography environment is desirable. You will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work without supervision and will need to have the following:

• Photographic degree or equivalent
• Excellent Photoshop and IT skills
• Working knowledge of the rest of Adobe Creative suite
• Knowledge of video editing software (Adobe Premiere)
• Excellent communication skills
• Registration with Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) and the Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS) registration will be advantageous

Candidates will be expected to learn how to use and administer our various systems including:

• Trust image database, Fotostation
• Media Job Management (MJM) system
• eDerma

Training will be given where necessary.

The successful applicant will join a busy team of ten people who cover a range of specialties including graphic design, photography, video, animation, and reprographics.

We work closely together, often collaborating on projects, and meet regularly to offer support. The team are enthusiastic to learn new skills and share knowledge with each other

We have good working relationships with other staff around the Trust and provide photographic and design support for other departments such as Communications, Corporate and Nursing.
