Description:
To oversee and expand our Planning function in the North, we are looking for a Planning Manager to join us. Working alongside the Project Controls Director, you'll prepare and develop schedules for a variety of large multi discipline schemes or smaller projects, where the ability to prioritise, competing demands will be key.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Preparing and developing schedules in conjunction with Project Managers, including schedule updates and reports
- Highlighting trends delays and issues within the programme and propose mitigation measures
- Ensuring programme related issues are addressed
- Evaluating and reporting schedule progress and trends
- Assisting management, project managers and colleagues to understand and buy into the planning and scheduling function
- Supporting business development and progression of PMO guidance & planning process
- Recognising and understanding competing business requirements within the plans and making recommendations for the overall good of the business
- Mentoring staff to assist in their professional development
- Assisting the Project Controls team with evaluating schedule impacts arising from change and risk mitigatio

On top of that, you’ll have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in engineering or in a related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Significant planning and scheduling experience in large multi discipline civil engineering projects
- An in-depth working knowledge and hands on experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Commercial awareness with a good knowledge of contracts and Earned Value analysis
- The ability to develop programmes independently with skilled capabilities in progressing, trending, forecasting and analytical reporting
- Self-motivation with the ability to make judgements based on practice and previous experience
