Accuflex, in collaboration with a highly regarded planning and environmental law firm, is seeking a motivated Planning Paralegal to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in planning, environmental, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) law while contributing to high-profile and sustainable development projects across the UK.

The firm is nationally recognized for its expertise in sustainable development, regeneration, and environmental impact initiatives, advising both private and public sector clients on complex matters that shape communities, preserve heritage, and drive long-term sustainability. This role also qualifies as Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) under the SQE pathway, making it ideal for aspiring solicitors aiming to gain accredited experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist solicitors on planning and ESG-related matters, including major regeneration and sustainable development projects.

  • Conduct legal research on planning, environmental, and biodiversity regulations, including Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements.

  • Draft and review planning agreements, applications, appeals, and supporting legal documents for inquiries and hearings.

  • Liaise with stakeholders such as developers, local authorities, heritage bodies, and community groups to ensure legal compliance and successful project delivery.

  • Support environmental impact assessments and governance-related considerations in housing and infrastructure projects.

  • Provide case management and administrative support to ensure smooth project execution.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree (achieved or expected) in Law or related discipline.

  • Strong legal research, drafting, and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a keen interest in planning, environmental, and ESG law.

  • Ambition to develop expertise in the field, whether as a long-term paralegal or as part of a pathway to solicitor qualification.
