Platform Engineer

Description:

As a Platform Engineer at Ophelos, you’ll craft and maintain the technology backbone that drives our mission to revolutionize debt management. Your expertise in development and operations (DevOps) will be key in building a platform that empowers financial health for consumers and businesses, aligning with our vision of a financially educated and equal world.

Key Responsibilities:

• 40%: Collaborating with the tech team to streamline the deployment process and improve developer experience.

• 30%: Developing and enhancing DevOps practices, ensuring platform reliability and scalability.

• 30%: Proactive systems monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement to optimize platform security and performance.

• Success Metrics: Reduced deployment times, stable systems with observed uptime and error rates, and positive feedback from teams.

Tech Stack:

• AWS EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, Kinesis

• Ruby on Rails application

• AI and data pipelines on Databricks

• Containerized services and Kubernetes (K8s)

Role Requirements:

Must Haves:

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) and containerization (Docker).

• Good understanding of GitOps practices.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

• Proficiency in implementing deployment pipelines (CI/CD, GitHub Actions).

• Familiarity with AWS-based infrastructure.

• Good understanding of networking/DNS concepts (OSI layers).

Nice to Haves:

• Understanding of a programming language (Ruby, Python, JavaScript, Go).

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Datadog).

• Experience with deploying and supporting cloud infrastructure for Ruby on Rails applications.

• Experience with Cloudflare.
