Policy Officer

 

Description:

The British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) represents around 3,000 holiday and residential parks across the UK, supporting members with technical advice, publications, webinars, conferences, and a dedicated helpline. The Policy Officer plays a central role in articulating members’ views to government, delivering high-quality advice, and supporting public affairs activities. This role is primarily focused on England and Wales and involves engagement with policymakers, producing responses to government consultations, and providing support to members and the senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Horizon scanning for policy developments affecting members

  • Supporting public affairs activity and preparing members and senior leadership for political meetings

  • Producing responses to Government consultations and formulating policy positions

  • Handling member enquiries via the membership advice line

  • Organising and providing secretariat support for industry committees

  • Communicating technical issues to members through multiple channels

  • Editing and proofreading guidance documents

  • Supporting organisation of webinars, conferences, and events

  • Travel across the UK to attend meetings and events as required
