Pre-contract Manager

Description:

Morgan Sindall Engineering Solutions Limited is seeking a Pre-Contract Manager to join their Energy Business Unit based in Motherwell, Scotland, on a contract basis. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for guiding the pre-contract function across Scotland, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and business objectives. The successful candidate will manage early contractor involvement (ECI) projects, bids, and allocated schemes while overseeing multiple submissions across various sites.

The role requires someone with a strong technical or engineering background—preferably in energy, civil, or electrical disciplines—and experience leading technical teams or bids. You’ll lead internal approval processes, ensure high-quality and compelling proposals, develop bid resource plans and budgets, and proactively manage risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and lead the pre-contract function for Scotland across multiple bids and proposals.

• Guide internal approval processes and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

• Coordinate and motivate cross-functional, high-performing teams.

• Create resource plans, define bid budgets, and manage key project risks.

• Deliver innovative and winning proposals that reflect business strategy and themes.

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree-qualified in engineering or a related discipline.

• Strong knowledge of civil or electrical infrastructure projects.

• Demonstrated experience leading bids or similar technical functions.

• Excellent team collaboration, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working on both major and minor infrastructure projects.
