About The Team And The Role

The Price & Promotions team sits as part of the Commercial Strategy team and is tasked with developing and executing the strategic pillars of Ocado Retail’s value proposition. From conception to delivery, the team ensures initiatives resonate with new and existing customers and are successfully maintained across the business.

As a Pricing & Promotions Analyst, you will play a key role in driving the analytics that shape the future of Ocado Retail's value strategy for customers. You will be responsible for analysing and reporting on pricing and promotional decisions and using commercial and market data to produce actionable insight. In addition, you will work closely with the broader Commercial team to deliver recommendations and embed new tools and ways of working.

You’ll support strategic projects to support our overall value roadmap, as well as ad-hoc analysis to support proactive and reactive price and promo decisions. You will develop tools and reports with a focus on automation to raise the speed and quality of decision-making. You’ll have great communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to a range of audiences, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
 

  • Business partnering with our buying team to identify and provide opportunities to improve our value proposition, whilst taking on requests from the buyers to support with analysis and provide recommendations to drive impactful change
  • Undertake analysis using commercial and market data to develop an understanding of price and promotional performance, and make recommendations
  • Develop tools and reports to be used by the broader business to further the understanding of price and promotion performance
  • Support ad-hoc projects involving customer and commercial analysis of strategic value initiatives
  • Support the roll out of new tools and ways of working to the broader Commercial team, partnering with individual Buyers to review and improve price and promotional performance
     

Essential

Who you are

  • Experience of using SQL (Preferably BigQuery)
  • Previous experience in an analytical role, preferably for 1+ years, and comfortable working through analytical problems
  • Ability to drive projects forward with keen attention to detail
  • Experience in presenting analytics-driven output to wide-ranging audiences in a clear and logical way
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong commercial mindset and enjoys problem-solving to uncover actionable insight
  • Proven stakeholder management experience
     

Preferred

  • Experience in a retail, e-commerce, or FMCG business
