Metro Dynamics, a respected employee-owned consultancy committed to strategic development and social impact in local economies, is hiring Senior and Principal Consultants to support and lead their growing portfolio of economic analysis and public sector advisory work. The roles are based in either Manchester (preferred) or London with flexible hybrid working arrangements and client-facing travel across the UK.

The successful candidates will join a diverse, mission-driven team, collaborating with government bodies, Combined Authorities, private investors, and developers to shape policies and investments that impact regeneration, infrastructure, housing, innovation, and more.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading socio-economic impact assessments, cost-benefit analyses, funding bids, and strategic business case development using the 5-case model.

• Driving analytical research and designing data-led strategies for complex regeneration and infrastructure projects.

• Managing client relationships, including direct interactions with senior public and private stakeholders.

• Mentoring junior team members and contributing to Metro Dynamics' evolving internal methodologies.

• Developing written and visual materials (slide decks, reports, economic assessments) for clients.

• Leading and supporting proposal writing and new business pitches.

• Supporting firmwide management activities as required.

• Principal Consultants are expected to independently deliver higher-complexity projects with reduced supervision and contribute actively to thought leadership and strategic growth.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience delivering business cases, economic impact studies, or socio-economic analysis in consultancy or government environments.

• Strong understanding of the HMT Green Book and Magenta Book guidance.

• Deep knowledge of socio-economic datasets, their limitations, and applications.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Experience using data analysis tools and methodologies.

• Familiarity with the UK local economic policy landscape.

Technical Skills Sought:
