Our growing focus on water and environmental solutions, alongside a wider array of consultancy services, means we are seeking to appoint an experienced Principal Environmental Consultant with both a strong technical background and the ability to manage projects throughout their lifecycle.

Key Competencies And Experience

We are looking to appoint a Principal Environmental Consultant who has relevant experience in the water sector and beyond. Professional experience within consultancy is required. Essential is significant understanding and experience in a relevant water related environmental technical discipline, to include one or more of: water quality (marine and freshwater), surface water management and hydro-ecology, and should ideally be able to demonstrate the following:
 

  • Competence and experience in applying detailed knowledge of water quality chemistry.
  • Understanding of the links between water quality and aquatic ecology.
  • Experience of environmental discharge permitting.
  • Understanding of the sources, fates, effects, and assessment of pollutants.
  • Understanding of remediation techniques for contaminated ground and surface water.
  • Ability to clearly present complex technical information visually and orally.
  • Experience of technical engagement with UK environmental regulators
     

We Also Require The Following Key Competencies And Experience
 

  • Excellent understanding of the UK water industry and its regulation.
  • Ability to manage technically complex large water environmental projects.
  • Strong project and programme management/direction skills to ensure a high level of service.
  • Experience in managing proposals and winning work of a sizeable value.
  • People management experience, involving supporting the development of staff through mentoring.
  • An environmentally related degree (ideally with a post-graduate qualification also).
  • A clean full UK driving licence.
