Role Requirements

• A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering discipline
• Chartered Engineer and/or 10 years’ experience in this specialist discipline
• As Principal Machinery Engineer you will be leading the Mechanical Discipline Engineering effort across a range of diverse projects. Costain is positioning itself to become a key player in the transition to green and sustainable energy solutions. Our new projects involve Carbon Capture and Hydrogen Generation technologies and include Storage and Distribution from early Scoping and Concept through to FEED, Detail Design, Construction and Commissioning. This is an exciting and rewarding position to become part of Costain’s innovative leading-edge team delivering high value efficient solutions to our varied clients
• Responsible for the technical content and delivery of Rotating Equipment and Package Plant deliverables on any given project
• Responsible for the checking and approval of design work in accordance with Company Procedures
• Significant Machinery Engineering experience within the Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Energy sectors with a particular emphasis in large Gas Compressors and Pumps
• Extensive knowledge of Applicable Machinery Engineering Design Standards and Codes
• Competence in the requirements for CDM Principal Designer roles and duties
