Print Press Operator

Description:

De La Rue, a global leader in secure manufacturing and technology, is currently seeking a Printer (Uteco 1) to join its Print Team based in Westhoughton. This is an on-site, full-time role focused on operating print presses to produce high-specification products while maintaining quality and safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a globally recognized business in a fast-paced and precision-oriented environment.

As a Print Press Operator, you will play a crucial role in maximizing machine output, reducing waste, and maintaining consistent quality. You will work closely with senior operators and process leaders to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring the production process runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate print machinery in a safe, compliant, and effective manner.

• Minimize waste and maintain levels within standard allowances.

• Support the No. 1 Operator in technical troubleshooting and maintaining quality standards.

• Collaborate with team members including Process Leaders, Production Assistants, and Quality Control personnel to exceed performance targets.

• Complete and monitor production paperwork and computer-based records accurately.

• Ensure efficient machine setups, changeovers, and clean-downs using full production support.

• Meet or exceed production, quality, delivery, safety, and continuous improvement targets.

• Participate in the training and development of new and existing employees to enhance the department’s performance.

Candidate Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant craft or technical field.

• Proven experience in high-specification printing processes.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Flexible, team-oriented, and capable of working independently.

• Proactive mindset with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle shifting priorities.

• Willingness to undergo initial training under reduced pay rates until full proficiency is demonstrated.
