As a Pro Bono Board Advisor for Sustainable Marketplace Solution and Strategy, you'll be shaping the future of an innovative e-commerce platform offering eco-friendly furniture, clothing, and rentals designed to support a greener tomorrow. Recognised as a regional finalist in the UK StartUp Awards 2025 (Green StartUp of the Year), Green Orbit is poised to disrupt consumer habits and inspire a shift toward circular economy models.

This strategic role is suited to a seasoned technical leader with a strong grasp of marketplace infrastructure, architecture, and scaling strategies, preferably in early-stage or fast-paced environments. With minimal time commitment — roughly four board meetings a year plus a few additional hours per month — you’ll contribute high-level guidance, mentor the operational team, and help shape the technological DNA of a transformative platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic advisory on selecting, designing, and optimising marketplace infrastructure

• Recommend state-of-the-art e-commerce platforms, tools, and integrations

• Guide the scalability strategy to prepare for user and transactional growth

• Mentor technical and operations teams to ensure platform reliability and innovation readiness

• Influence the technology roadmap through insights on AI, ML, blockchain, and sustainability-focused tech

• Attend approximately four board meetings annually, plus virtual check-ins or ad hoc discussions as needed
