Description:
As a Process Engineer within one of our four business units, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to process engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of process designs for water projects on AMP8. You’ll review design outputs to ensure they meet required standards, specifications, and project objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the delivery of process design for projects, ensuring compliance with safety, technical, and quality standards.
- Review design deliverables, including mass balances, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design reviews and implement necessary changes.
- Mentor and support the development of junior process engineers, promoting best practices and professional growth.
- Ensure all designs adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, including hazardous area regulations (DSEAR).
- Drive continuous improvement by championing innovation in design and digital technologies.
- Assist in stakeholder engagement and supplier coordination to secure design approvals and project success.
- Promote sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives within design practices to support environmental stewardship.
About You
We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Process Engineer with strong leadership skills. You will ideally have:
- A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Chartered status or be working towards chartership.
- Proven experience in the water sector, especially in process design and capital projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of process design standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Experience mentoring and developing less experienced engineers.
- Experience in a Design & Build environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental management within water projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with a collaborative approach and focus on continuous improvement.
- A strong commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of engineering solutions.
