Procurement Consultant

Datasource Recruitment is hiring Procurement Consultants for a top UK consultancy delivering expert advice and hands-on support to Government, Defence, and National Security clients. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing consultancy that supports complex procurement and commercial transformation programmes across high-stakes sectors.

These roles are available at various levels, offering career progression and involvement in nationally significant projects. Candidates must hold or be eligible for SC or DV Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver procurement and commercial strategies for complex multi-supplier environments.

• Advise on supplier consortium formation, frameworks, and partnership options.

• Create and manage tender documentation such as ITNs, PQQs, ITPDs, and contracts.

• Devise pricing, payment, and incentivisation mechanisms aligned with programme goals.

• Lead procurement workshops, strategy sessions, and training for clients.

• Support strategic commercial decision-making and influence key stakeholders.

• Analyse cost structures and develop commercial models.

• Ensure alignment with public sector standards including the Outsourcing Playbook, MOD DEFCONs, and DEFFORMS.

• Contribute to operating model design and post-award contract management processes.

• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members at senior levels.

Candidate Requirements:

• Proven experience in procurement or commercial roles within MOD, UK Government, or National Security.

• Strong understanding of commercial strategy development and delivery.

• Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and build trust-based relationships.

• Strategic mindset with hands-on delivery skills in procurement transformation.

• Familiarity with public sector procurement best practices and frameworks.

• Team leadership experience preferred for senior roles.

• Willingness to travel regularly to client sites.

• Active or eligible for SC or DV security clearance.
