Procurement Manager

 

Description:

Vickerstock, in partnership with a major heavy manufacturing business, is seeking a Procurement Manager to develop and execute global sourcing and procurement strategies. The role aims to optimise cost, quality, risk management, and supplier performance across all regions, driving supplier innovation and establishing best-in-class procurement practices to support global operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a global procurement team.

  • Implement and manage procurement strategies across multiple categories (direct/indirect).

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with global suppliers to secure cost savings and service improvements.

  • Establish KPIs and scorecards to monitor supplier performance and compliance.

  • Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure continuity of supply.

  • Partner with operations, finance, legal, and regional business units to align procurement initiatives with business goals.

  • Support new product launches and global projects with supplier selection and sourcing strategies.

  • Act as a procurement subject matter expert guiding regional and local teams.

  • Drive cost savings, working capital improvements, and total cost of ownership reductions.

  • Analyse market trends and provide insights on global pricing, supply, and risk factors.

  • Lead contract negotiations ensuring compliance with global legal and ethical standards.

  • Promote sustainability, diversity, and ethical sourcing in supplier management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred) or a professional qualification such as CPSM, CIPS, or PMP.

  • 3–5+ years of procurement experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven management experience and passion for team development.
