Product Manager

Description:

We’re looking for a Product Manager who is interested in developing strategy, alignment, and delivery of the tools and technology that aid Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) research. Technical experience preferred, but no machine learning knowledge is required for this role.

This role sits within the Platform team which is a core group of 60+ Software Engineers within DeepMind Research who work to provide a best-in-class research workflow. Platform builds tools, infrastructure, libraries, frameworks, services, and products to enable and accelerate the next generation of research ideas.
The Role
In order to understand, build and support the right things for researchers, we need to understand their workflow and the scientific method in practice as it relates to DeepMind’s unique environment. Discover what works, what doesn’t, where blockers occur, and where we might have chances to define step changes in the way research is conducted.
Your job is to determine the best way to understand how research is done and to investigate and clarify which hurdles may hinder our progress. You will then partner with researchers to explore potential solutions and communicate this clearly to Engineering leads and across DeepMind to inform our roadmaps and prioritisation. We strive to iterate often between the research and development teams, and you should work to make these interactions run smoothly.
