Description:
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), a regulatory body overseeing 45,000 firms in the UK to ensure financial markets are honest, fair, and competitive, is seeking a Product Owner – Network Infrastructure Management. This role sits within the Core Technology Department, Division of Data, Technology and Innovation.
The Product Owner will be responsible for both change and operational delivery of FCA’s critical networking services including end-user local building networks, WiFi, wide area networks (SDWAN), security capabilities, internet proxy, and other SASE services. The position requires managing high-profile programs introducing new services while owning the product roadmap, technical debt, and overall governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead delivery of change and operational services for complex, high-impact networking and security products.
Collaborate with stakeholders to estimate resources, costs, and timelines for product changes and feed into portfolio strategic planning.
Drive agile and DevOps-based delivery ensuring solutions meet acceptance criteria and deliver measurable value.
Manage product budgets, oversee financial recharging to sponsoring projects, and ensure cost transparency.
Provide leadership and coaching to both direct and matrix teams, fostering technical and service excellence.
Set, monitor, and report performance against key metrics while implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Own strategic roadmaps for core networking and security products, aligning governance, financial planning, risk management, and delivery strategies.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional IT product teams.
Expertise in networking, cloud, and security product management.
Proficiency in architecture and systems design for network infrastructure.
Supplier management and procurement experience.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into business impacts.
Financial management expertise including forecasting and budget accountability.
