Description:

Oldham College is seeking an ambitious and visionary Programme Leader to take charge of the Travel and Tourism provision within its Retail and Commercial Faculty. This is a dynamic leadership role, offering the chance to shape an evolving curriculum and inspire learners to pursue successful careers in the global travel industry.

As Programme Leader, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment practices. You will also drive curriculum innovation, champion industry engagement, and contribute significantly to the ongoing development and reputation of the college.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of committed Travel and Tourism tutors and support staff.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, learner-centred teaching and assessment.

  • Oversee curriculum planning, development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Foster strong links with industry and the local community to support learner progression and enrichment.

  • Support outreach and recruitment activities to attract prospective students.

  • Promote a culture of high expectations, innovation, and inclusive learning.


Candidate Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification and relevant occupational qualifications (essential).

  • Proven experience in managing or leading educational programmes in Travel and Tourism.

  • Strong understanding of curriculum development, industry demands, and learner support.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage performance.

  • Passion for education, continuous improvement, and learner achievement.

  • An assessor or IQA qualification (desirable).
