As a Barclays Programme Manager you will lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic technology programmes for Barclays Payments. This involves you managing complexity, owning multiple work streams, managing dependencies across the programme and wider portfolio and landing change across a complex estate. It’s your chance to showcase your excellent team leadership skills as well as stakeholder management , whilst managing expectations of senior stakeholders, including director level colleagues.

What will you be doing?
 

  • Planning and leading significant software delivery programmes of work and Identify dependencies ensuring alignment with other business areas/functions
  • Helping to develop a business case for outcomes from its inception through to prioritisation into the execution backlog
  • Liaising and building relationships with key stakeholders across the Business, Operations and Technology to create buy in and understand impacts of the change
  • Preparing the business and technology for change through comprehensive and methodical planning and forecasting of effort required
  • Measuring and reporting progress in line with identified and appropriate governance
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is created and evidenced to the satisfaction of control boards, ensuring agreement to proceed to the next phase of the project
  • Communicating to all stakeholders to gain appropriate approvals and consensus
  • Ensuring that the project cost, quality and time are managed within the approved project scope and plan
     

What We’re Looking For
 

  • Proven track record managing significantly risky software delivery programmes of work crossing multiple areas and stakeholders with aggressive timescales.
  • Team and line management experience
  • Good knowledge of the card payments industry (preferred) or overall understanding of the Financial Services Industry.
  • PM or Agile certification (preferred) or relevant industry experience.

  • Ability to manage priorities, multi-task and flawlessly execute at speed Software Project Delivery
  • Significant experience of Project Risk management
  • Expert in Project Communication - making oneself understood, sharing information, listening to and encouraging others to get involved.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, with the ability to influence business decisions and to drive analysis and problem solving of complex operational and technology issues
