Project And Operations Manager

Description:

Ready Tech Go is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that helps to bridge the digital divide by providing tablet PCs and laptops to local people experiencing poverty and isolation. Our vision is a world where technology is accessible to all.

Our work is carried out in three steps: 1) we collect unwanted or newly gifted laptop and tablet PCs, largely via dedicated drop off hubs in West London, 2) we then work with Tech Volunteers to repair and advice on device condition , and 3) finally we match suitable devices to beneficiaries who we get to know through frontline and other locally-led services, and distribute them at organised pick-up hub days. Throughout, we follow strict security, safeguarding protocols to protect both donors and beneficiaries.

In 2022, with funding made possible thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, we will showcase our first ever ‘Fixing Factory’ in partnership with West London Waste Authority (WLWA) and the Restart Project at the Abbey Road recycling centre. Local volunteer and professional IT skilled repairers will repurpose computers for local people out of adapted shipping containers, putting fixing on show and engaging residents dropping waste. Young people will be invited to learn and volunteer onsite, with training and work experience pathways available again through Mer-IT.
