An exciting opportunity exists to join the Automation Systems Group, part of the world-renowned WMG at the University of Warwick, to undertake research implementation of smart manufacturing systems in Industry 4.0 context. We are looking for hands-on Engineers looking to work closely with our industry partners on collaborative research projects.
The Automation Systems Group is seeking one Project Engineer in the field of Automation Systems. The role involves contributing to funded R&D and commercial projects to develop novel automation and digital solutions to support the manufacturing industry. The role will require developing, testing and evaluating several automation and digital engineering solutions against technical constraints and industry requirements.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
About You
The prospective employee will be expected to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team of automation and control experts, senior software developers, production engineers and electrical engineers. The ideal candidate will have a background in developing and using industrial automation systems (i.e. PLCs, Robotics, IoT) and be proficient in using digital engineering tools to develop digital twins of physical systems. Due to the highly technical nature of the role, the candidate is expected to produce, maintain, and regularly present a set of documents which include dissemination material, requirement specifications and technical documentation.
