Description:
Glass and Framing Solutions Ltd is seeking a full-time, on-site Project Estimator to join our team in Hull. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for commercial aluminium frame and glazing projects. Working closely with clients, architects, specifiers, and developers, you will ensure that all tenders are submitted on time, competitively priced, and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for aluminium frames, curtain walling, windows, doors, and glazing systems.
- Liaise with architects, specifiers, contractors, and developers to clarify requirements and resolve queries.
- Prepare and issue quotations, ensuring competitive and commercially viable pricing.
- Collaborate with the contracts and installation teams to ensure estimates are practical and achievable.
- Track tender submissions and follow up with clients to maximise business opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, labour rates, and industry trends.
- Support the business in value engineering by identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Assist with contract handovers and provide cost breakdowns for project delivery teams.
Qualifications:
- Previous estimating experience within construction or fenestration is an advantage, but we are open to applicants who are eager to learn and develop in the role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications (training can be provided).
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT skills, particularly in Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
- Willingness to learn about commercial glazing, curtain walling, aluminium frames, and associated materials.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
