Description:
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the delivery of new homes and capital projects. The role will focus on managing the procurement process, contract management, and delivering projects efficiently while ensuring they align with the Council’s property and accommodation strategies. This position requires a strong focus on budget management, quality assurance, and driving innovation for successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations and ensure the efficient management of project delivery.
- Implement best practices in project management for procurement, contracts, and the delivery of projects.
- Align projects with the Council’s strategic goals and ensure they meet regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Provide high-quality architectural, engineering, and surveying advice.
- Ensure timely and on-budget project delivery, meeting client requirements and expectations.
- Collaborate with various departments and external partners for seamless project execution.
- Manage project budgets, from inception to completion, ensuring value for money and cost-effective solutions.
- Report regularly on project progress, costs, and any necessary adjustments to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications: Recognized project management qualification. Membership in a property-based professional body (e.g., Chartered Surveyor, Chartered Building Surveyor, Chartered Architect).
- Experience: Proven track record in delivering mixed new build projects, specifically new homes.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry, procurement legislation, and hands-on experience with various types of construction contracts.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience in dealing with senior management, stakeholders, and elected members.
- Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Capacity to work autonomously and manage large budgets.
