Project Manager

Description:

WuXi AppTec is hiring a Project Manager to lead end-to-end project execution within STA, its specialized division for API and Drug Product development and manufacturing. This position is fully remote within the EU and is ideal for experienced professionals in the pharmaceutical or CRO/CMO sectors who excel at cross-functional project coordination and client engagement.

As the primary point of contact for clients and internal teams, the Project Manager will facilitate seamless project execution, from proposal to completion, while supporting technical troubleshooting, risk management, and business development initiatives. You will also play a visible role at industry events, showcasing STA’s capabilities to potential partners and clients.

This role requires a strategic and highly organized individual, capable of managing complex timelines and cross-border collaboration, with the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project initiation, planning, and implementation activities, ensuring timely execution and delivery

• Define project goals, milestones, deliverables, and resource needs

• Monitor and control project timelines, budgets, and progress

• Provide timely status updates to internal stakeholders and clients

• Use risk assessment tools to resolve challenges and implement corrective actions

• Maintain daily client communication and conduct regular project meetings

• Represent the company at external meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences

• Prepare detailed agendas, meeting minutes, and follow-up action plans

• Collaborate with the business development team to draft proposals, change orders, and quotes

• Evaluate project outcomes and contribute to continuous process improvement

Requirements:

• Master’s (MS) or PhD in life sciences (preferably chemistry)

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO/CMO industry

• Prior exposure to API process R&D and manufacturing and/or Drug Product R&D and manufacturing

• Project management certification (PMP preferred)

• Strong track record of cross-functional project leadership

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

• Understanding of the pharmaceutical development lifecycle, especially small molecule drugs

• Self-motivated, highly flexible, and capable of thriving in a remote work environment

• Willingness to travel (~25%)

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in both English and Mandarin

• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
