Searchability® is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing client operating at the forefront of smart building technologies and IoT-based automation. Based in Wigan, Lancashire, with hybrid working arrangements and occasional travel across the UK, this is a fantastic opportunity for a project professional passionate about sustainability, innovation, and cutting-edge building performance solutions.
As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of projects from inception to completion. You'll report directly to the Engineering Manager and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless coordination across engineering, operations, and stakeholder groups. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a firm grasp of technical systems in modern smart buildings.
You will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, risk profiles, compliance, and third-party vendors. A keen understanding of evolving technologies, sustainability practices, and building regulations will be essential as you contribute to energy-efficient, technologically advanced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full-cycle project delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives
Collaborate across internal teams and senior stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of systems and processes
Manage budgets, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial performance of projects
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to building codes and safety standards
Maintain clear and consistent communication across all project phases
Promote sustainable and innovative practices in smart building system implementation
Create detailed project documentation and progress reports
Support company-wide efficiency through proactive planning and execution
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Demonstrated success in managing technical projects end-to-end
Knowledge of smart buildings, IoT systems, or automation technologies
Effective stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities
Understanding of safety standards and environmental practices
Strong financial acumen related to budgeting and cost control
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Flexible and tech-savvy with ability to adapt to industry trends
Preferred:
Experience in the construction or building automation sector
Proficiency in managing project risks and external vendor relationships
