Searchability® is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing client operating at the forefront of smart building technologies and IoT-based automation. Based in Wigan, Lancashire, with hybrid working arrangements and occasional travel across the UK, this is a fantastic opportunity for a project professional passionate about sustainability, innovation, and cutting-edge building performance solutions.

As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of projects from inception to completion. You'll report directly to the Engineering Manager and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless coordination across engineering, operations, and stakeholder groups. The role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a firm grasp of technical systems in modern smart buildings.

You will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, risk profiles, compliance, and third-party vendors. A keen understanding of evolving technologies, sustainability practices, and building regulations will be essential as you contribute to energy-efficient, technologically advanced environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full-cycle project delivery, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives

  • Collaborate across internal teams and senior stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of systems and processes

  • Manage budgets, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial performance of projects

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to building codes and safety standards

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication across all project phases

  • Promote sustainable and innovative practices in smart building system implementation

  • Create detailed project documentation and progress reports

  • Support company-wide efficiency through proactive planning and execution


Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated success in managing technical projects end-to-end

  • Knowledge of smart buildings, IoT systems, or automation technologies

  • Effective stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities

  • Understanding of safety standards and environmental practices

  • Strong financial acumen related to budgeting and cost control

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Flexible and tech-savvy with ability to adapt to industry trends

Preferred:

  • Experience in the construction or building automation sector

  • Proficiency in managing project risks and external vendor relationships
