Psicon Ltd is looking for dedicated and passionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join their Independent Clinician Network in Basingstoke. This position involves conducting autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people aged 3–18 years, ensuring that each evaluation is handled with compassion, professionalism, and adherence to the highest clinical standards.

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will conduct comprehensive developmental histories, observe children during sessions, review relevant collateral information, formulate diagnoses, and provide age-appropriate feedback to families along with recommendations and signposting to local/national resources. You will collaborate with the team in planned clinics and offer follow-up sessions if additional information is needed. Reports must be produced within 48 hours post-assessment in accordance with DSM-5 criteria, with administrative support provided for formatting and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct autism and ADHD assessments using approved tools and methods

• Perform detailed developmental history evaluations

• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate feedback to families

• Collaborate with MDTs for complex cases and follow-ups

• Produce detailed diagnostic reports within the required timeframe

• Make referrals in line with NHS Trust/ICB protocols

• Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and training opportunities

Requirements

• GMC registration with a valid license to practice

• CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry preferred (not mandatory)

• Expertise in ASD and ADHD assessments

• Ability to travel to Basingstoke for in-person assessments

• Up-to-date with revalidation and appraisal processes
