Description:
King's College London is seeking a QA Test Support Engineer to play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing non-production environments (NPEs) within the Transition & QA team. Reporting to the QA Test Technical Solutions Manager, this role involves working across technical and non-technical teams to ensure testing activities run smoothly, supporting QA and development teams, and maintaining the stability of test environments.
This role is ideal for candidates with technical support experience, a problem-solving mindset, and an eagerness to develop expertise in test environments, automation, and scripting.
✅ Non-Production Environment (NPE) Support – Assist in maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident handling of test environments.
✅ Technical Assistance – Support QA & development teams with basic queries, environment setup tasks, and tool configurations.
✅ Automation & Optimization – Execute pre-existing automation tasks to streamline test environment setup and monitoring.
✅ Collaboration & Process Adherence – Follow standardized procedures for environment management and contribute to process improvements.
✅ Incident Management – Track, document, and resolve NPE incidents, escalating issues when necessary.
✅ Security & Compliance – Ensure secure handling of sensitive test data and adhere to compliance standards.
✅ Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate records of environment setups, issues, and resolutions.
✅ Learning & Development – Participate in training sessions and hands-on technical learning to stay updated with best practices.
✅ Azure DevOps Support – Work with Azure DevOps boards for project tracking and team collaboration.
✔ Technical Support Experience (Essential) – Experience in IT service desk or technical support, troubleshooting issues efficiently.
✔ Collaboration & Communication (Essential) – Strong verbal & written skills to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
✔ Problem Solving (Essential) – Ability to analyze & troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
✔ Basic Test Knowledge (Desirable) – Understanding of software testing concepts, defect management, and test execution.
✔ Tool & Platform Familiarity (Desirable) – Exposure to Azure DevOps, scripting, automation, and IT environments.
✔ Learning Mindset (Essential) – Enthusiasm to learn new technologies and develop skills in automation & scripting.
✔ Service Improvement (Desirable) – Experience in process optimization and technical improvements.
