Description:
Mirus is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Quality team and contribute to the company’s mission to become the world’s leading aircraft seating supplier. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting quality initiatives across engineering and manufacturing, with a focus on error prevention, lean manufacturing, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and reducing variation and waste throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and implementing quality processes and documentation for Part 21 Subpart G, Part 21 Subpart J, and AS9100 compliance.
Maintain and compile quality documents such as Quality Plans and First Article Inspection (FAI) Reports.
Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to legislative and regulatory standards.
Support continuous improvement activities and track product/process quality metrics.
Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) with focus on quality planning and prototype support.
Develop PFMEAs, process flow charts, and AS9102 reports.
Investigate non-conformances, concessions, and manage occurrence reports using root cause analysis tools.
Issue airworthiness certificates (Form 1s) for goods being dispatched.
Conduct supplier quality assurance and monitor performance against targets.
Use quality tools such as FMEA, RCA, SPC, MSA, and Gauge R&R to improve performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
5 GCSEs including English
Diploma or Certificate in Engineering or Quality
Understanding of ISO9001:2015 and FAI processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Proficient with quality tools and data analysis
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Good time and project management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
Desirable:
Engineering Degree
Internal Auditor certification (AS9100)
Experience with AS9102, AS9100, CAA Part 21G & J
Aerospace background in medium to high volume manufacturing
