Quality Engineering Manager

Description:

Airbus is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to join their A220 Engineering team in Belfast. This pivotal role involves leading functional quality directives, ensuring the highest standards in engineering deliverables, and supporting the successful ramp-up of the A220 program. The role requires collaboration with the program management team, ensuring all engineering outputs meet on-time, on-cost, and on-quality targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Leadership: Lead and direct functional quality directives, aligning the A220 Engineering team with high standards and processes.

• Continuous Improvement: Deploy robust problem-solving methodologies such as 8D (Eight Disciplines) and 9S (Nine Steps), driving efficiency and performance improvements.

• Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to customer and regulatory requirements, maintaining product integrity and quality throughout the development lifecycle.

• Program Support: Act as a key partner in the A220 program, ensuring engineering deliverables support program success.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Quality Management Systems (QMS): Expertise in implementing and maintaining quality systems in aerospace manufacturing (AS9100 or similar).

• Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Proficient in structured methodologies like 8D and 9S.

• Risk Mitigation Techniques: Skilled in DFMEA and establishing early warning systems.

• Supplier Quality Management: Experience managing quality across the supply chain, conducting audits, and facilitating quality reviews.

• Engineering Data Analysis & Reporting: Strong ability to collect, analyse, and report on quality metrics to support data-driven decisions.
