Description:
Ultra Intelligence & Communications (I&C) is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead its Cyber Business Unit, which provides advanced cryptographic and key management solutions ensuring the secure exchange of critical information for military and government customers worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global defence and cybersecurity leader, supporting mission-critical programs and enhancing operational excellence.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Quality Team within the Cyber division. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that products, services, and projects consistently meet the highest quality standards, while also enabling the business to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage quality activities across the Cyber business.
Develop and implement best practice quality policies and performance methodologies.
Provide expert guidance to maintain certification to AS9100 and ISO9001 standards.
Plan and conduct audits, inspections, and supplier assessments.
Ensure effective execution of corrective actions and timely resolution of non-compliance.
Report quality performance metrics to Senior Leadership Team.
Oversee quality aspects for software, firmware, and hardware products.
Champion standardisation and process optimisation across the business.
Manage and mentor Quality Engineers, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Support quality aspects of the Cyber supply chain to ensure compliance with UK legal and customer requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Strong background in Aerospace / Defence quality management.
Demonstrable experience with ERP systems (preferably IFS).
Hands-on experience achieving and maintaining AS9100 and ISO9001 compliance.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities.
Effective communicator with the ability to influence at senior levels.
Desirable:
Knowledge of APQP and PPAP methodologies.
Understanding of engineering lifecycle integration with quality checkpoints.
Membership (or progress towards) Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to obtain and maintain SC Security Clearance (mandatory).
May involve handling export-controlled materials.
