Description:
You’ll manage a team of quality and inspection professionals, ensuring compliance to internal standards, customer expectations, and industry requirements. You’ll oversee NDT operations from welding to final inspection, manage calibration processes, and take a hands-on approach to training and competency development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all NDT operations, ensuring production plans and safety standards are met
- Managing product inspection throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality specifications are achieved
- Designing new NDT standards and driving improvements in inspection methodology
- Managing equipment calibration and liaising with external calibration providers
- Leading audits, supporting customer visits and resolving quality issues
- Coaching and approving team members to recognised ASNT Level I and II NDT certifications
- Analysing data, generating reports, and leading quality review meetings
- Supporting internal trial work and reviewing material standards with suppliers
What you will need
To thrive in this role, you’ll need extensive quality control and NDT experience in a manufacturing environment. You should have:
- ASNT Level II or III qualifications in ultrasonics or MPI (Level II minimum – Level III support available)
- A solid understanding of NDT inspection systems and product quality standards
- Experience with ISO quality management systems and internal audits
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- High attention to detail and a conscientious approach
- Experience preparing customer reports and liaising with third-party inspectors
- Strong IT and organisational skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
- An understanding of metallurgy or previous work in the steel industry would be an asset
