Description:

The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second-largest school district in the nation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recruitment Coordinator to manage and oversee full-cycle recruitment and career pathway advisement activities. With an enrollment of nearly 575,000 students, over 1,190 educational centers, and a workforce of more than 74,000 employees, LAUSD is dedicated to recruiting and developing passionate educators and staff to ensure all students are prepared for success in college, career, and life.

The Recruitment Coordinator will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing recruitment strategies, cultivating partnerships with educational institutions, and advising candidates on career pathways. This role requires flexibility for travel across California, the U.S., and internationally, as well as the ability to work evenings, weekends, and atypical schedules as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and coordinate recruitment and career pathway advisement initiatives.

  • Develop, review, and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies and plans.

  • Represent LAUSD at local, national, and international recruitment events.

  • Build and maintain partnerships with colleges, universities, and community organizations.

  • Advise applicants on career pathway opportunities and benefits within the District.

  • Oversee the screening of applications, references, and verifications.

  • Supervise staff assigned to recruitment and career pathway advisement activities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Outgoing, approachable, and able to build strong relationships with educational partners.

  • Knowledgeable in California Education Code, CTC requirements, LACOE processes, and federal mandates (ESSA).

  • Experienced in recruitment for K–12 education with the ability to inspire future educators.

  • Flexible and available for extensive travel, including international outreach.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred fields: Human Resources, Public Administration, Education, Behavioral Science, or related).

  • Experience: At least 4 years in recruitment, including developing recruitment plans, sourcing candidates, and conducting screening. Must include 1 year of experience recruiting for a California K–12 school district. A Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.

  • Other: Valid California driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.
