The Registered Home Manager will play a pivotal role in leading a team of six day nurses, two night nurses, and a Deputy Manager. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position where you will be expected to set high clinical standards, embed best practices, and inspire your team to deliver outstanding care daily. The role demands a confident, clinically strong leader with the ability to manage performance, address challenges effectively, and drive improvements where needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, occupancy growth strategies, and the ability to reduce reliance on agency staff. You must be adaptable to modern digital systems and able to support both technologically confident and less experienced staff members. Experience in service improvement or turnaround environments will be highly beneficial.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated Registered General Nurse (RGN) with Registered Manager experience to take ownership of a stable nursing home, benefit from strong senior-level support, and contribute to the ongoing success and community reputation of the home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing home with a strong presence on the floor.

  • Ensure high standards of clinical practice and regulatory compliance.

  • Drive occupancy levels and manage resources efficiently to reduce agency dependency.

  • Inspire and support nursing staff, embedding a positive and professional culture.

  • Oversee service improvements and ensure consistently positive CQC outcomes.

  • Utilise digital systems effectively for care planning, medication, and rota management.

  • Engage with the community to maintain and enhance the home’s reputation.

Essential Criteria:

  • RGN qualification with active NMC registration.

  • Previous permanent experience as a Registered Manager.

  • Strong clinical and leadership expertise.

  • Proven track record of delivering excellent CQC results.

Desirable:

  • Experience in service improvement and turnaround situations.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive occupancy and community engagement.
