Registered Nurse

Description:

Active Care Group, one of the UK’s largest and most respected providers of Neuro and Mental Healthcare services, is seeking compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurses to join their team at Ivetsey Bank Hospital in Stafford. This is a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) service providing specialist care for young people aged 12–18 who are living with diagnosed mental health conditions.

As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in protecting and supporting the wellbeing of patients, providing holistic, person-centred care, and helping each individual achieve positive outcomes. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in clinical practice, facilitation, and management — all while being supported by senior nursing staff and clinical leaders.

This is an excellent opportunity to advance your nursing career in a high-quality care environment while making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protect and support the physical and mental health of individual patients/residents within the CAMHS service.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive programmes of care, including discharge planning.

  • Deliver health education and promote wellbeing among young patients and their families.

  • Gain experience under supervision in clinical practice, facilitation and teaching, and management.

  • Take charge of the ward, unit, or department in the absence of senior nursing staff when required.

  • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the 24-hour service.

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality patient care.

  • Uphold the standards of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the values of Active Care Group.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A current NMC registration (RMN or RNLD) is essential.

  • A legal right to work in the UK.

  • CAMHS experience is desirable but not essential — training and development will be provided.

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and nights as needed.

What You’ll Receive:

  • Competitive salary: £39,000 per annum (~£3,250 monthly)

  • £5,000 Welcome Bonus – £2,000 upon starting and a further £3,000 upon completion of probation (permanent staff only)

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays

  • Birthday day off every year

  • Access to the Active Learning Hub, offering a wide range of training and development opportunities

  • Free 24-hour confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) for wellbeing, legal, and financial support

  • Medicash Health Plan – save on everyday health costs such as dental and optical care

  • NMC renewal fees paid by the employer

  • Nest Personal Pension account

  • Enhanced sick pay and maternity pay

  • Refer-a-Friend Scheme: Earn up to £1,500 for referring qualified Nurses, Therapists, or Doctors

  • Access to the Active Rewards App for discounts on shopping and leisure activities

  • Recognition of outstanding contributions through the Active Awards Programme

  • Supportive leadership from qualified clinical and business professionals to help you develop your career
