  • Collaborate closely with a capable night team including a veterinary surgeon and a patient care assistant.

  • Support emergency and critical care development under the guidance of a Lead Night Veterinary Surgeon (certified in exotic animal practice).

  • Participate in nurse consultations, structured handovers, and contribute to clinical improvement initiatives.

  • Utilise advanced hospital facilities such as computed tomography, digital radiography, ultrasound, and emergency surgical suites.

  • Maintain clear communication with the day team to ensure seamless patient transitions and continuity of care.

Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).

  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in small animal practice.

  • Strong interest or prior experience in emergency and critical care (ECC) and in-patient management.

  • Ability to work independently overnight while collaborating within a supportive team.

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

What Linnaeus Offers:

  • Annualised hours structure for flexibility and extended blocks of leave.

  • Coverage for RCVS and Veterinary Defence Society fees.

  • Employer-contribution pension scheme and life assurance.

  • Electric car salary sacrifice scheme and enhanced equal family leave.

  • Relocation support (where applicable).

  • Extensive CPD (Continuing Professional Development) opportunities, including support toward further certifications.

  • Clear career progression pathways within Linnaeus’ established emergency and critical care network.

  • Strong commitment to mental health and wellbeing, with access to trained Mental Health First Aiders and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme.
