Description:

Linnaeus is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join its dedicated team based at Rutland Veterinary Centre in Oakham, Rutland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established, RVCS-accredited practice known for delivering exceptional care to animals and their owners.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will rotate across key clinical areas including inpatient care, theatre, and consulting, handling a diverse range of small animal cases. The position provides the chance to develop your skills within a supportive, collaborative environment where no two days are the same.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to small animals across inpatient, surgical, and consulting areas.

  • Assist in anaesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-operative care.

  • Support veterinary surgeons in diagnostics, treatments, and patient monitoring.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with best practice standards.

  • Contribute to the team’s emergency service by participating in weekend day shifts (1 in 5) and shared bank holiday rotations.

  • Uphold hygiene, safety, and welfare standards throughout the clinic.

  • Promote client education and provide compassionate support to pet owners.


Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, spread over 4 days (typically 8:00am–6:00pm or 8:30am–6:30pm).

  • 1 in 5 weekend day shifts (Saturday and Sunday).

  • No weeknight on-call duties, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

  • Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
