Our next step in the journey? We’re looking for a Fertility/Reproductive Nurse


The Role


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Fertifa team. Fertility/Reproductive Nurse will work with patients and clients to ensure that Fertifa provides a quality service leading to greater patient retention and will be a primary contact for patient enquiries.

Key Responsibilities


Patient Experience:

Primary contact for any clinical patient enquiries, questions, or concerns, ensuring that all information given is up to date and accurate
To assist with the day-to-day clinical activity in all areas of the clinical services and ensuring appropriate input to patient’s treatment with awareness of staffing levels and skill mix
Conducting discovery calls and patient consultations, plan care, investigations, or treatment in conjunction with patients and under the guidance of consultants
Acting as a point of escalation for medical queries from the patient advisors
Obtaining feedback from patients, encouraging for iterative improvements to the Fertifa benefits programme
Monitor the doctor’s capacity, working with clinicians to arrange additional slots when necessary, helping to ensure that adequate capacity is available to avoid delays in booking appointments for patients
Maximising retention of patients with Fertifa and support for their reproductive journey
Working with partner clinics and wellbeing providers to provide a seamless experience for patients going through reproductive treatment (or receiving support)
Obtaining feedback from patients, encouraging for iterative improvements to the Fertifa benefits programme
Support in the ongoing development of our digital proposition
Development of new ideas – all with the aim to make the patient experience as rewarding, innovative and seamless as possible
Ensure confidentiality regarding all aspects of care
Compliance with vulnerable adult and child safeguarding procedures
Clinical Responsibilities

Fully understand the clinic’s clinical protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), patient information and consent forms
Deal with telephone and e-mail enquiries in a professional manner and ensure that all information given is up to date and accurate.
To contemporaneously ensure all offered treatment, advice, treatment cycles and outcomes are recorded in line with current HFEA guidelines and requirements and SOPs.
Possess a working knowledge of their patient’s drug regimens and treatment plans.
Ability to interpret and give blood results when necessary.
Obtain informed consent from patients within HFEA code of practice/ Fertifa SOP through nurse discussions.
Inform patients about implications of treatment and provide information and support throughout treatment cycle when needed.
Support patients during egg recovery and embryo replacement procedures and other treatment, giving advice where necessary.
To be able to provide cover for ill health or emergencies for other nursing staff
Support patients pre and post tests done via Fertifa
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Outlook and Word
Help to monitor and maintain adequate stock levels within the pharmacies Fertifa use and advise doctors when there is no stock
Experience in fertility ultrasonography preferred

Possess excellent organisational skills, good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workload
Be able to understand and comply with all necessary legislation, including the: Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority’s Code of Practice
Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014
Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009
General Data Protection Regulation, with special reference to client and employee confidentiality.
Be able to work flexibly to cope with the dynamics of a start-up environment, including working some unsociable hours, as may be necessary
Knowledge of a broad range of services for referral and signposting.
Person Specification


Qualifications & experience

Registered NMC (or equivalent) nurse with previous experience within a fertility clinic setting – (essential)
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience providing patient care or support within a clinic, or hospital that addresses reproductive health
Awareness and understanding of cultural sensitivities related to reproductive healthcare
Fully conversant and comfortable with the use of electronic medical records, patient portal and virtual platforms to conduct consultations (essential)
Flexible and collaborative working style
Fluency in English (required)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
