The Centre for Advanced Powertrain and Fuels (CAPF) at Brunel University of London is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/PhD candidate to join their team as part of an EU MSCA Doctoral Training Grant. This role will focus on researching hydrogen and ammonia injection and ignition in engines for transport systems, contributing to sustainable energy advancements.

The successful candidate will enroll for a PhD degree at Brunel University of London and will work collaboratively with academic staff, fellow researchers, and external partners involved in this cutting-edge project. The position includes active participation in project meetings, regular progress reporting, and contributing to the preparation of high-quality journal papers and conference publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct experimental and analytical research on hydrogen and ammonia injection and ignition for transport engines.

  • Collaborate closely with project partners and the academic team.

  • Prepare research outputs including journal articles and conference papers.

  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, workshops, and seminars.

  • Enroll in a structured PhD program and fulfill academic requirements.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must not have resided in the UK for more than 12 months in the past 3 years.

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry.

  • Eligible to enroll in a PhD program.
