Description:
The University of Nottingham is seeking a motivated and skilled Research Associate/Fellow to join the Translational Medical Sciences unit within the School of Medicine. This role focuses on paediatric tumour metabolism within the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre at the Biodiscovery Institute.
The successful candidate will contribute to advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of rare childhood cancers through cutting-edge research.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research in paediatric tumour metabolism, utilizing expertise in analytical biosciences (LC-MS/OrbiSIMS) or gene editing and validation (CRISPR/Cas9, PCR, western blotting).
Collaborate with a small, dynamic research team led by Dr. Madhu Dandapani.
Contribute to publications, presentations, and research outputs.
Engage in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation relevant to the project focus.
Candidate Requirements:
PhD (or near completion) in tumour metabolism, analytical biosciences, cancer research, or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with analytical biosciences techniques or gene editing/validation methods.
Strong motivation to make a meaningful impact on childhood cancer research.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small research team.
