Description:
The Communications and Marketing Executive, within the Cancer Research Horizons team, assists the team to deliver engaging communication and marketing content designed to reach Cancer Research Horizons’ three target audiences, while working across CRUK-owned, paid and third-party channels.
What will I be doing?
Key duties include:
Manage and help to grow digital communications channels, driving the implementation of a social media strategy, curating content, and designing campaigns in coordination with stakeholders across the organisation
Assist in increasing audience engagement with other digital media (ie, website, newsletters), and report on new and events related to Horizons’ diagnostic and drug development and venture capital achievements, and expertise; as well as the organisation’s entrepreneurial support programmes.
Collect, develop content, and distribute a newsletter for entrepreneurially- minded researchers with translational ambitions and contribute stories to the weekly CRUK Research newsletter.
Analyse and report on communications and marketing activities, producing monthly reports and ad hoc analyses.
Project manage the necessary event support, briefing studio conference or webinar related materials, arranging transport of banners or the design of presentations, for a comprehensive series of internal and external events.
What skills are we looking for?
We need a Research Communications and Marketing Executive who is passionate about science and has a strong interest in working with Cancer Research Horizons, to deliver creative and effective marketing campaigns to help deliver our communications strategy.
You will bring to the role:
Strong communication skills (written and verbal communication), able to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible way.
Experience in using digital communications channels and running successful digital and/or social media channels and campaigns.
Demonstrates initiative, self-motivated and solutions focused.
A strong attention to detail
A passion for Cancer Research UK cause and work
Analytical with experience producing reports and dashboards.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to network, build and maintain good working relationships.
Excellent project management, organisation and planning skills.
