Parkinson’s UK — the leading charitable funder of Parkinson’s research in Europe — is inviting applications from experienced researchers, clinicians, and technology innovators to join its prestigious College of Experts. This influential group plays a vital role in shaping the future of Parkinson’s research by reviewing and recommending funding for cutting-edge studies that aim to improve treatments, therapies, and ultimately find a cure for Parkinson’s disease.

Since its inception, Parkinson’s UK has invested over £130 million in pioneering research, covering the full spectrum from early discovery science to clinical trials and practical therapies for symptom management. The College of Experts supports this mission by ensuring the research we fund is of the highest quality, ethically sound, and capable of making real impact for people living with Parkinson’s.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review research grant applications and fellowship proposals across diverse Parkinson’s research areas

  • Provide expert feedback and evaluation throughout the funding review process

  • Collaborate with fellow scientific experts and individuals with lived experience of Parkinson’s

  • Attend online panel meetings to discuss funding recommendations and research priorities

  • Contribute to shaping strategic directions for Parkinson’s research funding at a national and global level

Eligibility and Requirements:

  • Minimum five-year publication record demonstrating significant contributions to Parkinson’s or related biomedical research

  • Proven experience reviewing research grants, funding applications, or academic manuscripts

  • Successful track record in obtaining and managing research funding

  • Open to experts from all relevant disciplines — including clinical medicine, neuroscience, molecular biology, pharmacology, digital health, and medical device innovation
