Description:

The University of Leeds invites ambitious researchers to join the School of Earth and Environment, Faculty of Environment, in an interdisciplinary role focused on sustainability storytelling and stakeholder engagement related to subsurface energy solutions. This post supports the energy transition by curating creative and impactful research-informed stories about the subsurface’s role in energy geoscience.

You will work with Associate Professor Rory Padfield and the Geosolutions Leeds team, alongside the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Culture, and professional storytellers to produce compelling narratives aimed at educating and inspiring a wide audience including future geoscientists, engineers, and social scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support creation of diverse storytelling outputs about the subsurface and energy transition.

  • Collaborate across disciplines to develop a ‘Storytelling and Stakeholder Engagement Tool’ for future use by geoscientists, engineers, and social scientists.

  • Engage in science communication and storytelling techniques, building new skills in this area.

  • Help raise awareness of Geosolutions Leeds research and teaching programs.
