Description:
Sage is seeking a Research Integrity Associate Editor to join its dedicated Journals Editorial Department. This permanent, full-time role plays a critical part in ensuring ethical publishing practices and upholding the highest standards of research integrity across Sage’s portfolio of scholarly journals.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a global publishing leader that has remained independent since its founding in 1965, driven by a mission to support research, education, and social change. You will work collaboratively with editors, authors, reviewers, and institutions to manage publication ethics cases, ensuring compliance with COPE guidelines and Sage’s policies, while helping strengthen trust in the scholarly record.
Handle and resolve publication ethics cases in line with COPE standards and Sage policies.
Collaborate with journal authors, editors, reviewers, and institutions to investigate and resolve ethical issues.
Escalate cases when necessary and keep internal stakeholders informed of potential risks.
Identify and implement improvements in workflows related to publication ethics investigations.
Manage and organize sensitive information securely in compliance with GDPR.
Maintain effective working relationships with Editorial, Peer Review, and Legal teams globally.
Contribute to internal discussions on publication ethics and help develop internal and external resources on research integrity and peer review.
Previous experience in academic publishing or academic research, with strong understanding of peer review processes and workflows.
Experience in assessing and evaluating scholarly content, ideally with subject matter expertise.
Interest in developing a career focused on research integrity and publishing ethics.
Familiarity with online manuscript systems (ideally ScholarOne).
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle large volumes of critical and confidential information.
Excellent problem-solving skills and strong collaborative communication abilities.
