Researcher

Description:

We are looking for a range of researchers with an interest in one or more of the following areas: (i) architectural history; (ii) urban planning; and (iii) archival research. UDRO is launching a number of major interventions across the UK, including some of public significance, and needs a skilled and passionate team to drive its operations.

Responsibilities

You will work with the Director of Interventions to research buildings and communities affected by development proposals. This could range from finding out more about the hidden history of a factory building in South London, to evaluating the architectural significance of a 1950s apartment building in Belgravia -- both examples of previous UDRO interventions. You will put together concise reports that will be submitted to government authorities and the press, and will be trusted as a close advisor and expert on the subject matter you are responsible for.

The role will be flexible and designed to suit your individual circumstances and interests.

Qualifications

We are interested in range of research backgrounds. We not only need experienced architects and urban planning practitioners, but also passionate students whose degrees have a strong research focus, with corresponding skillsets in online, database and archival research.
